Overview

The ENC24/30SUL is a stainless-steel enclosure with additional wiring room for various components, including a data logger, power supply, larger batteries, and communication and measurement peripherals.It is UL508A listed, with a UL listed NEMA 4X rated enclosure and components.This enclosure, with a backplate with holes for mounting devices, can be ordered with one to four conduit openings or 12 cable entry seals.The ENC24/30SUL is designed for mounting on a tower, building, or other structure, but a user-supplied mount is required.This enclosure is available in two finishes. ENC24/30UL is the painted, mild-steel version, and ENC24/30SUL is the stainless-steel version.

To maintain its NEMA 4X rating, the ENC24/30UL does not come with a standard Campbell Scientific ground lug. Users must bring a ground wire inside the enclosure through a conduit or cable entry seal and then ground it to a ground bar, DIN-rail mounting bracket, or something similar.

Detailed Description

The backplate of the ENC24/30SUL is prepunched with half-inch-on-center holes to attach the data logger, power supply, communication device, and measurement and control peripheral.

This enclosure ships with the 7363 enclosure supply kit consisting of desiccant, a humidity indicator card, cable ties, wire tie tabs, putty, grommets, screws, and PVC coupling. Also, Campbell Scientific offers a CS210 Enclosure Humidity Sensor to monitor relative humidity inside the enclosure. (SeeOrdering Infoon the web page.)

  1. What factors affect the amount of desiccant needed in an enclosure?

    There is not an easy way to calculate how much desiccant is needed in an enclosure or how quickly the desiccant will need to be replaced. The following conditions affect the replacement interval:

    • How much humidity the enclosure is exposed to
    • The size of the enclosure
    • How often the enclosure door is opened and how long the door remains open
    • How airtight the enclosure is

    It may be advantageous to use more than one desiccant packet at a time inside an enclosure. Campbell Scientific recommends keeping an extra supply of desiccant on hand for as-needed replacement in the enclosure.

  2. When should the desiccant inside an enclosure be replaced?

    The desiccant should be replaced when the top colored dot on the humidity indicator card (pn 28878) turns pink; the humidity indicator card is included in the enclosure supply kit that is shipped with each enclosure. If the CS210,Enclosure Humidity Sensor, is used, replace the desiccant when the measured humidity exceeds 35%.
