The CS800, a modified version of the Wind Mark III manufactured by Climatronics, is a high performance wind speed and direction sensor designed specifically for air quality applications. The CS800 features low starting thresholds allowing accurate measurements at low wind speeds.

Although the CS800 was removed from our standard offerings (effective 7 June 2006), it may still be available on special order. Please contact Campbell Scientific for assistance.

The CS800's anemometer is measured by the PulseCount Instruction in the CR1000, CR3000, CR5000, and CR9000(X) dataloggers and by Instruction 3 (Pulse Count) in the other data loggers. The wind vane is measured by the BrHalf Instruction in the CR1000, CR3000, CR5000 and CR9000(X) dataloggers, and by Instruction 4 (Excite-Delay-SE) in the other data loggers. The measurements are typically processed for output with the Wind Vector instruction (not present in the CR500 or CR9000).
The CS800's anemometer consumes one pulse count channel on the data logger and access to a 5 Vdc source, typically a 5V channel or Continuous Analog Output channel on the data logger. The Wind Vane requires one single-ended channel and access to an excitation channel (the excitation channel can be shared with other high impedance sensors).
